ESPN chooses peak season to close, leaving workers shut out by United Workers

ESPN Zone closed in New York, D.C., Philadelphia and Baltimore without giving workers proper notice. Disney owns ESPN Zone and treated workers as disposable. In certain cities workers showed up to a close restaurant and in Baltimore workers found out a week before the closing only because of a news leak and facebook status. They are leading the fight for fair development, which respects human rights, maximizes public benefits and is sustainable.  The following blog piece was written by United Worker summer organizers based on what they learned in the field. In the next few days former ESPN Zone workers will release a statement and more action is to follow.
